Hand-coloured linoprint on paper, 2024

This linocut was based on a previous pencil drawing, ‘All Things are Connected’.

After hand colouring the print, I scanned it and used it to create a repeating pattern. This can be found in Yaralla Designs.

Shrine to the Lost Forests of Willoughby,

Blackbutt, Angophora, and Sydney Blue Gum

Acrylic paint, plywood and timber frame, 40cm x 40cm x 200cm, 2024.

This was made for the 2024 Tree Veneration society show “Sacred Grove in our Street”.

It was designed to be part of the Willoughby City Council’s “Canopy of Life” tree festival, held to raise public awareness of the importance of our urban forest, and bring attention to all too frequent acts of tree vandalism going on in Sydney. Property owners are paying contractors to blatantly poison and fell trees in council reserves and nature strips, to improve their harbour views and the resale value of their homes.
